Massachusetts Fleet Leasing Standards
Standard statutory & contractual benchmarks governing procurement in Massachusetts:
Commercial fleet operations across Massachusetts require strict adherence to gross weight classifications. Vehicles rated between 10,001 and 26,000 lbs operate without a CDL but require active DOT medical cards and electronic logging devices (ELD), while units over 26,001 lbs require certified CDL drivers and IFTA reporting.
Enterprise fleets in Massachusetts leverage open-end Terminal Rental Adjustment Clause (TRAC) structures. This preserves operational capital, shifts residual asset risk favorably to commercial operators, and allows companies to deduct monthly lease charges as operational expenditures under ASC 842.

Google Review Sentiment & Client Excerpts
“While one customer praised helpful service, most experiences were highly negative. Common issues included unsafe vehicles, rude staff, slow processing, and unexpected charges.”
The gentleman at this location is the definition of helpful customer service. My husband and I needed to make a flight, took our rented truck back to this location only to learn they don’t accept trailers. We would have e had to fight heavy congestion with a truck and trailer to go to the location that does. He find a solution for us instead of just siting policy. This is humanity at its finest. I didn’t catch his name amidst all the stress but we are so very grateful for his kindness and solution based mindset.
Zero stars if possible. Lazy, smug, rude woman at front desk refused to help me when I was returning a van during rush hour. She forced me to parallel park this econo van in oncoming traffic during one of the busiest hours of the day in a city that is famous for terrifying drivers. She basically yelled at me that I wasn’t allowed to park the van in the lot. I couldn’t parallel park the van and had a panic attack and was on the phone with roadside assistance for about a half an hour and they also didn’t help at all. Will never rent from Budget again and I suggest you don’t either.
I rented a 12" box truck from the Allston, Mass rental office on Sunday, June 23rd at 9am. Negligent behavior When I got inside the rental truck, I saw that the check engine light was yellow and the tire monitoring (!) light was also yellow (I took a photo). I took the keys back into the office and told the representative and he said "the truck is fine, you don't need to worry about it, we check everything". I drove away and when I stopped for gas, I saw that the left rear tire looked low. When I got to my final destination, I took the truck to a gas station and found out that the tire pressure was 25 PSI, when it should have been 80 PSI. After filling the tire, we headed out for our final leg of our trip, with my daughter in the car, we found the tire was again low, called roadside assistance (which was great, by the way) and they said the tire pressure was 5 PSI. They replaced the tire for us. I believe this put my family in danger, and am very surprised to see a representative essentially blow us off after I told him about the warning lights. Rude behavior When I arrived 5 minutes early, the person at the front desk told me to "go back out and wait another five minutes, can't you see that there are other people waiting in line?". I didn't realize the other people were waiting in line, I had assumed they were waiting to have their cars driven up for pickup. Poor service I also observed the person in front of me getting a car, drive away, and come back 15 minutes later saying "is this a fully electric car?" He was told "yes, that was all that we had" The customer was obviously very upset that he wasn't told about this, and it sounded like he had a long trip ahead of him, where an electric car wouldn't be ideal. He left the office with no resolution Additionally, I was told that I had to get the commercial insurance for the truck and "if I would have read the customer agreement, which nobody does, I would have seen that the requirements to waive coverage were" this and that Update 7-17-24: Looking at my credit card statement, I see that we were charged an extra day after returning the vehicle ($241.16) . Fortunately, the corporate office credited this back when I called. I originally called the drop off location (phone number on the dot matrix-printed reservation) but they couldn't see the transaction, noting that it had to have been initiated by the pick up location. I am not sure how the processing works, but it seems odd that the pickup location would initiate a transaction for an "extra day", since they wouldn't know when the drop off occurred. I did submit a formal complaint about all of this to the corporate office and was provided an acknowledgement and case number, with a promise to let me know how the issues above will be resolved, but I haven't heard anything yet (it's been 3 weeks since drop off)
I rented car on Budget Allston, MA. I would give Zero stars for worst customer experience. I was charged $500 as cleaning fees (apparently to vacuum floor mats it costs $450), my car rental was $287. I did not leave any stains or bad odor in car. Below are the images of car when I returned. And since when rental car should be vacuumed ? Total Scam! I had to go through tedious process of explaining and sharing pictures to get my money refunded. Never using Budget again!
