Massachusetts Fleet Leasing Standards

Standard statutory & contractual benchmarks governing procurement in Massachusetts:

Intrastate DOT & Regulatory MandatesDOT & Safety

Commercial fleet operations across Massachusetts require strict adherence to gross weight classifications. Vehicles rated between 10,001 and 26,000 lbs operate without a CDL but require active DOT medical cards and electronic logging devices (ELD), while units over 26,001 lbs require certified CDL drivers and IFTA reporting.

Lease Taxation & Accounting StructureTax & Depreciation

Enterprise fleets in Massachusetts leverage open-end Terminal Rental Adjustment Clause (TRAC) structures. This preserves operational capital, shifts residual asset risk favorably to commercial operators, and allows companies to deduct monthly lease charges as operational expenditures under ASC 842.

My family and I just moved to Boston from Texas. We decided to rent from Groma and just for context, we had never seen the apartment in person only virtual. I am so happy with our decision. The team at Groma especially Jack and Wayne make us feel very welcome and always address any questions we have in a timely manner. We love the neighborhood and our neighbors. We decided to renew our lease, this is home now.

I lived in one of the Chelsea apartments and I lived there for 3 years. When my roommate and I needed to move in early and they could make it work - they did ( a huge help for us). Whenever we have an issue that is not urgent and pretty easy it's done within a couple of days if not day of. Whenever there is an electrical issue like a broken breaker, they have someone there within the day which is greatly appreciated. I've had issues late at night and although someone can't come soon to deal with it there is always someone "On Call". I developed a great relationship with the repairman for our building and will miss his great vibe and care for the building. So in general they are REALLY good with service repairs. This doesn't come without negatives though. I have lived here for 3 years and have never had a mailbox key or access to my mailbox and that's been really frustrating. I've also had a leak through the ceiling light in my back stairwell for those 3 years as well, but they at least tried there (kinda). So for big building issues as would be expected they don't always deliver. My building was having trash overload issues and they got a huge dumpster that was coming every week, and that made quite the difference! But then they left it loaded for like 3 weeks and the issues came back. So I think there is a lack of visibility on the status of what's actually going on in the building sometimes. Unless you're actively reaching out for help, I'm not sure they have a good check on the pulse of the building. TLDR Small things handled quickly. Big things handled sometimes not at all. Always someone to talk when there's an issue. They're willing to work with you on stuff, and from my experience that's more than most. But you need to advocate for yourself.

My experience with Groma had been, at best, mediocre -- until two weeks ago. Hours before a holiday weekend started, they sent out an email requiring tenants to upload their Renter's Insurance policies to a new portal. (I have had a policy on file with them this entire time!). They gave less than 48 business hours for people to do so, otherwise they get charged $20 a month. Was clearly a cash grab to me. I have not been able to get a hold of them in any way to ask these charges get reversed. Even worse, they've been charging for subletters. We had two people who lived here just in the fall (yeah, they paid the $1,000 fee) and they are trying to charge them for renter's insurance. Only five people can even live at the apartment but they made sure to charge seven heads for their scammy renter's insurance. This happened to EVERYBODY who had subletters on file with Groma. So obviously a cash grab. After struggling with my rodent infested apartment where the foundation has tons of gaps and cracks, their little attempt to scam my whole apartment out of $150 will not slide. PS: Do some research on these 5-star reviews. A lot of them are employee names I recognize from the portal, responding to my maintenance requests. Whoops!

Great place to live. I lived at mosaic for two years. Maintenance and management keep the place clean and quiet and when there is an issue it’s addressed promptly. I’ve rented for a while and Mosaic was my best experience yet. Thanks specifically to Greg, Wayne and Jack for being talented and outgoing in their jobs.
