The Rental Source

Just moved into a nice condo and they made the process very straightforward, fast and easy. So far so good. I love my unit and the leasing agent I worked with responds promptly and has great communication skills, which is refreshing in the San Francisco housing market.

THE WORST RENTAL AGENTS I HAVE EVER DEALT WITH. I dealt with Damon and Marcela at the rental source, regrettably they’re the least professional leasing agents I’ve dealt with. There was a serious mice infestation at the unit on Broderick street x McAllister street. I called, emailed and texted the leasing agents and didn’t get any response. Like other people who provided feedback here recently, they just don’t care about the tenants at all, they only reach out when they need something from you, Damon would call multiple times, leave voice message, speak to you in a tone as if you should respond immediately, yet when you reach out regarding other matters all they do is ignore your emails, call and messages. One of the leasing agents Damon showed up at the unit without any prior notice on a winter night at 6pm (I have never met him in person by this point), he rang the bell aggressively as a stranger and just expect the tenants to answer. I had a late work meeting and wasn’t able to respond, by the time i responded to the bell, he came across agitated and expected me to be available at his own accord. He came to inspect a water leakage problem yet decided to completely dismiss and ignore the serious mice infestation. I do not recommend anyone renting any properties with the rental source, it’s the worst rental company I’ve ever worked with, they literally do not care anything you nor your living environment.

I called this property mgmt about a property they had listed in Cloverdale, an Agent named Joan called me back to schedule an appt to go see the property, the rest that you will read is what I wrote to her after I was denied "You really should be honest and list that it is near (less than 50ft) from the Cloverdale fairgrounds and the Event Center where there is constant loud amplified annoying music emanating from it, Quiceneras, Parties, Weddings etc... (no peace and quiet) Also mention that renter requirements mandate that they must not have any bankruptcies, must make 2.5 times the rent as income. Be honest Joan, tell it like it is. If you would have told me those things, I never would have wasted my time and also your time in going down there, wasting gas and spending money for an application fee. But I guess being a rental agent means you have to stretch the truth, or not tell it sometimes. I hope you can sleep at night, you made it seem like I was exactly what the property owner were looking for in a tenant, like all I had to do was show up and I would get the place, you forgot to tell me (or intentionally left out) that it still has to go through a broker and the owners do not really have a say in who is qualified. What a laugh, I'm ashamed that I actually fell for it. The desperate and vulnerable would-be renters are your prey." The bottom line is stay away, from these agents as they are not honest and will not tell you the whole truth about the property you are looking at and the requirements.

Thus far I've had a great experience with Rental Source as a renter. I found a great apartment at a reasonable price and pleased to find it managed so well. I'm looking forward to moving in.

I have been renting from The Rental Source for the past 6 years. They fast to respond to any problem and they are reliable. I also like how easy it is to pay rent using their website.
