Quoted $100 and a 2 day wait for a firmware update that was free at the Apple Store (without AppleCare) and took 15 minutes. I get it’s a profit deal but come on… And at the very least they must have known that kind of basic software update is free through Apple directly (given they’re a licensed repair shop and do this all day) so wouldn’t have killed then to volunteer that information. I imagine they regularly take advantage of older or less technically savvy people if this is any indication. Significantly more expensive and 10x as long, not sure what the upside is to dealing with them at all. I have no idea what they’re doing there and I suspect they don’t either

My MacBook was diagnosed and repaired faster than I ever expected and the team kept me updated throughout the entire process. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable, patient and passionate about Apple products and it really shows in the quality of their work. The store also has a great selection of Apple devices and accessories at fair prices. If you have any Apple related needs in Austin, this is absolutely the place to go. I would not trust anyone else with my devices!
