Google Review Sentiment & Client Excerpts
“PureVoltage offers good network performance and competitive pricing, with some users praising responsive support. However, several customers report rude, unresponsive, and unprofessional communication from staff, alongside issues with service reliability and account management.”
VPS performance was decent, but my experience with PureVoltage support was disappointing. Responses felt rude and dismissive, especially when I reported unresolved technical issues. Support should be professional and helpful, even when the customer has repeated questions.
One TERRIBLE email thread from a "Senior Finance Manager" turned my feelings of this company from good to HORRIBLE. PV had very a very good deal for a VPS - $45/year for great specs. I initially bought one, then bought another because I had several sites and needed the capacity and performance. I emailed in to them asking if they still had this deal as I was considering adding a 3rd box and was met with Tuck, a great employee here who I had dealt with a few times before and was always professional. He advised me that while they no longer had the specific $45/yr deal, they did have a $75/yr deal that I may be interested in. I ended up not needing the 3rd VPS, but inquired whether or not I could consolidate the two original VPS' into the $75/yr deal VPS. This is when things went down-hill VERY fast. I should note, that my initial question of this may have been confusing as I said something along the lines of "Can I consolidate both VPS plans into one and credit the account" - This was poor phrasing on my part - So that was indeed a mistake on my end. However, this email was responded to by someone named Mickey, a "Senior Finance Manager". To say that Mickey's response to my email was not only rude it was extremely condescending would be an understatement. Mickey literally had the nerve to tell me that it was basically my fault that I chose not to get the $75/yr deal -- Here is the quotes from the email I received, simple asking if I could consolidate to VPS' into one: "That will not be possible. You had the opportunity to purchase rhe 16 GB version earlier, but chose not to. If you would like the 16 GB version, you will need to order it and cancel your existing services. No prorated refund will be provided." I was LITERALLY being blamed for not signing up for this offer. I responded to Mickey's email and pointed out the condescension and rudeness in his email and that it was very much uncalled for. You simply NEVER blame a customer. That is Customer Service 101. After my reply, I received another rude and condescending email, again from Mickey. I then replied again and pointed out the same and advised that they were lucky that I had not left a negative review on TrustPilot at this point due to the professionalism shown by Tuck (who I mentioned at the top of this review). After my reply, I quickly received two automated emails stating that my hosting services would be cancelled and not eligible for renewal at the end of their date (~10 months from now). Then I received a manual email from Mickey advised me of the same and that our relationship would be terminated due to MY behavior. *** MY *** behavior. Simply standing up for myself as a customer. Mickey gave me the choice of finishing out the ~10 months or taking a pro-rated refund for each VPS. At first I chose the option to stay with PV, however after much consideration, I decided to migrate to a different host for fear of retaliation. I was very much afraid that PV would sabotage what was on my VPS'. During this whole process, someone named Jean-Noel chimed in on the email conversation and advised me that Mickey's emails were deemed appropriate. Ultimately, Tuck handled the rest of the situation professionally. I had migrated everything to a new hos, advised Tuck that I was done utilizing their services and I was ready for a refund. I did indeed receive my refunds as promised. As a last mic-drop moment, I ran Mickey's emails through three different AI platforms. I phrased each one differently and attached the emails to the platforms. Each concluded that Mickey's handling of the situation was not professional at all and the communications were in-deed condescending and rude. I think the entire team of PV would benefits from hiring a third-party customer service learning agency. They really need some training on that front. Needless to say, I am not HAPPILY paying a few bucks more a year to be with a provider who actually values their customers and who offers top notch customer service. My ultimate advice - STAY AWAY FROM PURE VOLTAGE
