HEC Leasing offers commercial truck leasing services primarily to owner-operators and small trucking companies. Clients have noted the company's support in getting on the road faster due to lower upfront costs compared to purchasing. Positive experiences highlight responsive support for maintenance, aiming to minimize downtime, and the perceived reliability of well-maintained equipment. The company is also recognized for its flexibility in lease terms, adapting to the dynamic nature of the trucking industry. Some customers appreciate the personal touch and dedication from the team, working to find solutions for equipment issues. However, several clients have reported significant issues with equipment reliability, including trucks being inoperable for weeks shortly after leasing, leading to substantial repair costs. Concerns have been raised regarding the condition of leased vehicles, with reports of pre-existing electrical and mechanical faults, use of recap tires, and issues with PACCAR engines. Payment disputes and alleged poor customer service responses to equipment problems have also been cited. Prospective lessees are advised to thoroughly inspect vehicles, request full repair histories, and check for recalls before committing.

Tennessee Fleet Leasing Standards

Standard statutory & contractual benchmarks governing procurement in Tennessee:

Intrastate DOT & Regulatory MandatesDOT & Safety

Commercial fleet operations across Tennessee require strict adherence to gross weight classifications. Vehicles rated between 10,001 and 26,000 lbs operate without a CDL but require active DOT medical cards and electronic logging devices (ELD), while units over 26,001 lbs require certified CDL drivers and IFTA reporting.

Lease Taxation & Accounting StructureTax & Depreciation

Enterprise fleets in Tennessee leverage open-end Terminal Rental Adjustment Clause (TRAC) structures. This preserves operational capital, shifts residual asset risk favorably to commercial operators, and allows companies to deduct monthly lease charges as operational expenditures under ASC 842.

PSA.. if you decide to purchase a truck from here please be prepared to break down within the first 30 days 60 days at best .comes with a horrible warranty that don’t cover the things that’s out of your control smdh. All the trucks have transmission issues that the warranty does not cover.dont expect any refund nothing is refundable and while your truck is in the shop they’ll still bill you increasing debt and pushing you further in the while you haven’t started getting out of after all the money you spent getting the truck, insurance, etc.STAY AWAY THERE NO GOOD 🙏GOOD LUCK

Crooks. Gave me a truck that engine went out in 3 months. Stayed in shop for 4 months. Then they came and got it once repaired. All while I kept in contact and updated. Now saying I owe them 19k. Drivers beware. Stay far away.

I highly recommend HEC Leasing for anyone in the trucking industry looking for a partner that truly cares about your business success. As the owner of Best Yet Enterprises, I’ve experienced firsthand how much they stand behind their equipment—they protect their equipment like a mother protects her child. The entire team at HEC is built on strong morals and a commitment to their customers. From the moment you walk through the front door, you are greeted with smiles and genuine politeness by the front desk staff, which sets the tone for the level of service you’ll receive. Miss Jackie goes above and beyond the call of duty to ensure every contractor feels welcome and valued. Mr. Jim and the rest of the team are just as dedicated. While they have grown from a smaller company into the successful business they are today, they haven't lost that personal touch. If you ever have issues with your equipment, they work tirelessly to find a solution—they truly make miracles happen. They might be busy, but if you stand with them, they will always come through for you. I am proud to stand with Miss Jackie and the whole HEC team. If you want to succeed in your business, this is the place to go.

Title: Second Inoperable Truck — Thousands in Repairs and Payment Issues I would not recommend HEC Leasing based on my experience. I am now on my second truck from this company, and this truck has already been inoperable for weeks. The first truck also had serious issues, including a recall-related problem, and now this second truck is down as well. In my opinion, HEC Leasing is putting drivers and small trucking companies in bad positions by leasing trucks that end up costing thousands and thousands of dollars in repairs soon after getting them. These trucks with PACCAR engines have been nothing but problems in my experience. Anyone considering one of these trucks needs to be extremely careful, because once the truck goes down, you may still be expected to keep paying while losing money, loads, time, and business. On top of the mechanical issues, I have also disputed the payment handling because payments were being pulled in amounts I do not agree with, while the truck has been inoperable. I requested that all balances, dates, and payment history be separated by truck/VIN, especially because there is already a dispute involving the previous truck. Small trucking companies rely on their equipment to operate. When a leased truck keeps breaking down, it is not just an inconvenience — it can destroy revenue, contracts, and business operations. Based on my experience, I would strongly warn other owner-operators and carriers to carefully inspect everything, demand the full repair history, check for recalls, and be very cautious before leasing a PACCAR-powered truck from HEC Leasing. I regret doing business with them and would not recommend them to another trucking company.
